Old postcards from the early 20th century, compared to the same view shown on Google Street View today. The postcards come from my own collection. Almost all of them are from England, mainly showing West London, Middlesex, Surrey, Berks and Bucks. Click on the postcards to see enlarged versions. Street View images are the copyright of Google. Chiswick, Duke Road c1913
The pub was called The Bolton Hotel. This area appears to be all residential now.
It is nice that actually now it is not so different. I work in a moving company nearby this road and I think that this is one of the most beautiful roads in Chiswick!
I agree with the previous comments. It's really important to cherish the past and it's great that this road is given a modern look , but without taking away its classic original beauty.
Looks almost the same but still different!
