Wandsworth, South West London, Melody Road 1906

Wandsworth, South West London, Melody Road 1906. Postcard by Richard Young. I think the building on the left was a post office.

  1. Great postcard, I like buildings with doors on corners very much - I don't know if there is a name for those shops/pubs etc which have their entrances at a corner as the one on the left in the pc?
I always feel quite a sense of loss to see the view nowadays.

  2. Is the building the original Public Library which was on the corner of Melody Road?

    2. Quite a change from then to now. The photo has a classic quality with the children and their hoop.
