Sunningdale, Berkshire, The Station c1911

Sunningdale, Berkshire, The Station circa 1911. Sunningdale Station has changed considerably since the top postcard was photographed by Young & Co in about 1911. Underneath the Google Street View is a postcard published by W. H. Applebee (from an earlier Young & Co negative) that shows the exterior of the station at around the same time. It is difficult to pinpoint this on the Google Street View. Have a go yourself, using the other postcard and its corresponding Google Street View as reference points!

  1. Giddy and Giddy is a great name for a company (presuming that's what they were). It was a pretty little station back then. I notice that you have a lot of photos by W H Applebee, is that just because he is the photographer for the area or do you have a connection with him? (just curious).
    Great photos as always.

  2. Hi Lisa, thanks for your comments. Yes, I collect WH Applebee and Young & Co postcards, this is why there are so many of them on this blog.
