Northwood, Middlesex, The Old Gate Pub c1914

Northwood, Middlesex, The Old Gate Pub circa 1914. The pub, now called The Gate, looks largely unspoiled. However the surrounding area is much busier. Postcard probably produced by W. H.  Applebee for Rawlinsons of Northwood. Click the postcard to enlarge.

  1. The fence is a little closer to the front door, isn't it. I really like that you can jump into the Google Maps picture and have a look around. If only we could do that with the old cards too.

  2. Such a pleasant bucolic scene, while today's pub seems to struggle against the traffic that's too fast and too crowded.

  4. From the state of the gear at the hour of examination, clearly the engine regulator had never been overhauled or kept up since the first establishment of that hardware. Because of the sea shore area of the apartment suite complex, the gates and regulator crumbled quickly. automatic sliding gate system
